Before you get too busy with all the activities of summer, please remember to give a pint of blood, if that is something you are able to do. My son and I responded to a call earlier this week from the Michigan Community Blood Center of Northwest Michigan. Seems I was eligible again to give. They make it so easy by calling to remind me. I was surprised to learn I reached the four gallon mark with this visit and received a pin to signify my accomplishment. They are always grateful for the donation and I always tell them I can't do a lot of things; but I can do this, so I am happy to do it. Thankfully, my family is healthy but many are in need, so I am always glad to see others joining me as I donate a pint. Maybe I'll see you there the next time.

For anyone looking for peace and solitude on some acreage with a solid, like-new house (that isn't too big, but nicely done) might want to come and have a closer look at this listing.

It's in the northwest corner of Benzie County in Platte Township where there's more public land in the form of state-owned acreage and National Park Land than privately-held property.  A lot of the private land is zoned in what's referred to as R-P 20, Rural Preservation, with a 20 acre minimum parcel size for any new land divisions, so the population density is just not that prevalent (think "quiet").
